Saskatchewan is Canada’s second largest beef producing province, covering a large portion (37%) of Canada’s total pasture land. Saskatchewan is an ideal location for livestock production and the sector is an important source of innovation and diversification in the agricultural industry. Through communication, research and advocacy, the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) speaks up on behalf of its members to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future for livestock production in Saskatchewan.
In addition to beef producers, APAS works closely with many of Saskatchewan's livestock sectors - including hog, diary, poultry, egg and honey producers. Producer representatives from these sectors actively provide input into agricultural policy development through Associate Memberships in APAS. APAS also works alongside their national representatives through membership in the Canadian Federation of Agriculture.
