Resolution

WHEREAS the Saskatchewan Agricultural Operations Act is intended to protect producers’ right to farm in Saskatchewan without undue regulation and restrictions;

WHEREAS both new and existing agricultural operations are facing burdensome zoning and permitting restrictions;

WHEREAS Saskatchewan agriculture is a major economic driver for the province with significant growth potential;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS support a review of the Agricultural Operations Act to ensure Saskatchewan’s “right to farm” legislation protects the ability of producers to use accepted and standard practices in both existing and new operations without unreasonable regulation or nuisance complaints.
