Resolution

WHEREAS Saskatchewan is a favourable jurisdiction for increased livestock production to meet growing demand;

WHEREAS inconsistent zoning and permitting requirements are discouraging investment and expansion of livestock operations in the province;

WHEREAS the Agricultural Operations Act is intended to protect producers’ right to farm in Saskatchewan without undue regulation and restrictions;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS support a full review of the Agricultural Operations Act, alongside municipal discretionary authority, to ensure Saskatchewan’s legislation encourages investment and expansion of livestock operations in the province.
