Resolution

WHEREAS modern farming practices have been proven to sequester carbon in the soil;

WHEREAS primary producers cannot pass along increased costs to consumers;

WHEREAS carbon taxes do not work in agriculture because producers already have incentives to operate as efficiently as possible;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS reaffirm our opposition to the imposition of a carbon tax on agriculture.
