Resolution: | WHEREAS agricultural soils are an important carbon sink, and agricultural practices like zero till continue to sequester carbon; WHEREAS the Prairie Soil Carbon Balance study has been a major source of data for the measurement of sequestration in soils; BE IT RESOLVED that APAS lobby the Federal Government for increased financial support for the expansion of the Prairie Soil Carbon Balance Project to include test sites in Manitoba and Alberta and to include the measurement of crop rotations, forages, and grasslands. |
