Resolution

WHEREAS APAS has long advocated for increased advance payment limits to ensure the program keeps up with inflation and rising production costs;  

WHEREAS Program changes in 2019 included an increase in total loan limits to $1 million and a temporary increase in the interest-free portion to $400,000 for canola only;  

WHEREAS The interest-free portion of the loan is a highly valued and well used component of the program that also needs to be updated to keep up with inflation, rising-costs and larger farm sizes;  

BE IT RESOLVED That APAS request a permanent $1 million cash advance limit and increased interest-free portion to $250,000 for all commodities.
