Resolution

WHEREAS the previous federal Minister of Agriculture was preparing to review the Canada Grain Act;

WHEREAS the Canada Grain Act is a key piece of legislation for Saskatchewan’s agricultural sector;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS request Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada recommence the Canada Grain Act review and ensure the following areas are examined:
• Security of payment for grain deliveries;
• Grain Standards Committee terms of reference for voting;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 1912 mandate of the Canadian Grain Commission be strongly reaffirmed.
