Resolution

WHEREAS Saskatchewan has taken action before to protect the public interest and initiated investigations of the mergers of BHP Billiton/Potash Corp. and Glencore/Viterra and how these transactions would affect the public;

WHEREAS the merger of Bunge-Viterra would affect a significant number of grain handling facilities within the province and at Canadian ports;

WHEREAS Bunge is already a partial owner in G3;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS work with partner organizations to encourage the government of Saskatchewan to conduct a review of the proposed Bunge-Viterra merger with a focus on regional impact to competition, market access for local crops, and ownership of port facilities and that the findings of this review be made public.
