Resolution

WHEREAS farm machinery has been a key component in ensuring the productivity, and environmental stewardship of Saskatchewan farms;

WHEREAS since the last updating of the Agricultural Implements Act, the cost of that farm machinery has increased greatly;
WHEREAS Saskatchewan farms have gotten larger and the turnaround time needed for repairs no longer aligns with the specifications in the Act;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS lobby the provincial government to undertake a review of The Agricultural Implements Act, including a review of penalties, fees, and guidelines for parts and service requirements; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Saskatchewan works with the governments of Alberta and Manitoba to ensure compliance under the Agricultural Implements Act for related businesses engaged in commercial activity in Saskatchewan.
