Resolution

WHEREAS data from weather stations alone does not accurately reflect on-farm conditions;

WHEREAS Alberta is able to augment their forage program data through the use of satellite data, grass clippings, and weather stations;

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS lobby Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) to invest in additional resources for the data collection for the Rainfall Forage program through:
• Investing in remote sensing technology
• Using grass clippings to determine local production
• Expanding the weather station network
