WHEREAS the need for trees for shelterbelts will continue to be valuable to the prairies; and

WHEREAS in the past few years thousands of trees have been destroyed by flooding and winds; and

WHEREAS population growth is being experienced in rural Saskatchewan with new acreages and farm yards; 

BE IT RESOLVED that APAS urge the federal government to create a Prairie wide steering committee to develop a cost recovery basis business plan for ongoing operation of the Indian Head tree nursery, and appoint SARM as Saskatchewan’s representative to the steering committee.
