Resolution

WHEREAS school districts have enlarged and many rural schools have been closed;

WHEREAS elementary school student are now being bussed for long distances, have to be on the bus very early and may spend several hours on the bus;

WHEREAS the fatigue induced by these long bus rides has a negative impact on the ability of these students to learn and puts them at an educational disadvantage;

BE IT RESOLVED that the provincial government mandate that school districts be required to ensure that elementary school students spend no more than two hours per day on the school bus.
